KEPHIS participated in the World Farmers’ Organization (WFO) Meeting
The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) participated in the World Farmers’ Organization (WFO) Meeting held from 8th–11th June 2026 at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi. The global forum brought together farmers’ organizations, agricultural stakeholders, policymakers and partners to discuss sustainable agriculture, food security, innovation and the future of farming.

The WFO Meeting provides an important platform for strengthening collaboration among stakeholders in the agricultural sector, sharing knowledge, promoting farmers’ voices, and advancing solutions that support resilient and productive food systems.
KEPHIS’ participation underscored its critical mandate of safeguarding plant health, ensuring quality agricultural inputs, regulating seed quality, protecting biodiversity and facilitating safe agricultural trade key pillars in supporting farmers and sustainable agriculture.
The official opening ceremony was graced by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, who served as the Chief Guest, Principal Secretary, State Department for Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh, the Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development, Hon. Jonathan Mueke and the Managing Director Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service Prof. Theophilus Mutui and other key leaders and stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
